Week 11 : Tina Turner
This week is one of my favorite week for song choices for many different reasons, there are so many great artists and songs that we get to choose from as well as this is what my family would play all the time growing up in my house. The song I chose for this week, is What's Love Got To Do With It by the all so famous Tina Turner. One of my favorite lyrics and one of the most heart felt ones in the song itself I think would have to be the line that states, "Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken? Huh", for me those lyrics really stood out because sometimes you can't ever recover from a broken heart, and in extreme cases you can die from a broken heart. I'm with my family when I'm writing this blog post and I ask my mom what the song is and who sings it, this had to be the funniest moment today for different reasons. Within at least 15 seconds of the song my younger sister yells out," THE BEACH BOYS", so we bust out laughing because she is way off and she should know better than this since all we do is listen to music. Then a couple seconds later my mom guesses the song, "Oh! This is "What's Love Got To Do With It", right?" then proceeds to take about 5 minutes to guess the artist and just feels dumb since she could describe what Tina Turner looks almost exactly, yet couldn't remember her name.
Haha thanks for sharing the experience you had with your family while finishing this post. It's funny when we can picture an artist, their voice, and everything else about them but their name. I also really like this song. I haven't read a blog post yet where someone has shared their favorite lyric, so I thought it was cool you included that.
ReplyDeleteI agree! This week was a blast to choose songs from! I am so happy we are getting to listen to music we can recognize now. It is sooo flipping nice! That line always sticks out to me as well though I love it. I feel like a lot of people can relate to those lines. Also, Tina Turner's voice is just iconic! Such a lead for this generation of music.
