Week 8 : The Rolling Stones
To start of this 'amazing' Monday, we are jamming out to THE ROLLING STONES! One of the best 'old school' bands that I grew up on as a kid, and lets just say I was very excited when I saw this on the songs of the week list. Just by the very beginning of the song you are already in such a good mood, and just completely vibing with the characters in the song. I should probably tell you what song I picked for this week now that I think about it, the song I chose for this week is Honky Tonk Women by The Rolling Stones. This songs brings back a lot of summer memories for me from my childhood. The one memory I can place with this song was in the summer when I was 7 or 8, me and cousins were learning how to skateboard in front of my grandparents house on a hot summer day. We just finished drawing all over the concrete with chalk and finished an otter pop, then you hear the stereo from the backyard blaring this song while me and my cousin crashed into each other on the skateboards. The song has a very upbeat country kind of melody to it, and then the lyrics are talking about women in bars that they are hitting on. The song is all over the place but all in all it's an amazing song by an even better band.
This was a great choice and it is a great song, but most of all the rolling stones are the best! Love all the details you gave in describing alot!
ReplyDeleteTotally kickass song choice! You can never go wrong with Jagger! I must admit, it's very disheartening to hear the Stones called "old-school".. Reminds me that someday, somehow, the generations after us might never know the magic that was The Rolling Stones.
ReplyDeleteThis was an amazing song! I was born in 2002 so growing up I don’t remember hearing the rolling stones to much but I loved reading about how much you enjoyed it as a kid growing up! When I first heard this song it really put me in a good mood and I loved that!
