Week 2 Blog Post
During high school I would get really stressed out with homework, tests, and making time to study around the times I would be at practice or in a tournament. Growing up I've always had a hard time focusing as well as bad anxiety, so taking time to do school work was really hard for me. Music has always been my go to release, no matter what I could turn on music to help me figure things out by listening to the lyrics, almost like it could describe exactly what I was feeling when I didn't know that myself. Lately it's been hard to find motivation in normal day to day activities, I know I need to do them but I can't bring myself too.
Music can help in so many different ways. When I'm stressed I like to listen to music without any lyrics, just a calm melody. You can feel the base within the beats of your heart, the calming notes flow through your head like a relaxing stream. Not a lot of people like listening to something if there are no words to understand, yet sometimes that's exactly what you need to listen too. The most recent song I found was just this past week, it stood out to me in a way that music hasn't been able to for awhile now. The song is called Empathy by Alicks, you can find it on sound cloud, and this rhythm it gives off from the speakers is something I can't describe into words. This has helped me find the motivation and focus I've been needing to get things done on time, and efficiently. Feeling helpless isn't something I like to feel, and when I can't get things done, I get into a bad place within my mind. Empathy helped me get out of my slump and finally have fun and enjoy life since I haven't been for awhile now.
Hi Maleah, this is a great post, but the blog posts need to be about music that we are studying in class at the time. Send me an email if you have questions.
